Everyday Wellness

For Pet Parents who actively seek pet care advice, the Everyday Wellness lane is a feature set that helps them take action every day to enrich and prolong their pets' lives. Unlike other veterinary telehealth services, Everyday Wellness engages Fuzzy Pet Parents on an ongoing basis to continuously drive toward their desired primary care outcomes.

Project Goals

Pet Journal tracking

  1. To allow pet parents to keep track of key elements of their pet’s everyday health

  2. To help pet parents bridge the challenge of conveying their pet’s health status on an ongoing basis to our veterinary teams.

  3. Create an experience with the least friction possible.

  4. Make the experience fun and intuitive.

  5. Increase user engagement from 5% WOW to 8% WOW

Process

Research

Started by conducting 10 moderated interviews where I learned what pet parents are worried about and what they want to empower them to take control of their pet’s health. Had alignment meetings with our digital health and veterinary teams to understand the complexities of tracking from their expertise. Conducted competitive audit to understand the landscape of digital pet care.

What I learned

  • Pet parents want their vet to understand their pet like they do, regardless of whether they see them in person or online.

  • Pet parents don’t always know the right steps to take to help their pets live healthy and happy life.

  • Veterinarians cannot touch and feel the pet, so they have to get a sense virtually which can be very difficult.

  • There are a lot of apps out there but none are focused on the vet/pet parent relationship.

What pet parents want

I want my vet to understand my pet as I do.

Usability Testing

We conducted multiple rounds of usability testing as we created wireframes and more concrete mockups. I created test plans, making sure that each task would encompass the use cases we had discussed. We had to make sure that customers were able to get through the journal easily and perceive it as useful and unique.

Final Designs

An MVP was created with input from my engineering partners and stakeholders to determine what would be feasible and most valuable to pet parents as well as our veterinary staff. A list of prioritized fast follows was created to ensure our feature continually added value.

So nice intuitive interface. Also very playful, very easy to add different things in. So yeah, very easy, very simple but also very effective. Really allows me to fine tune it and add you know some accuracy to it. So I like that a lot.

I think it is very intuitive and well designed. I think it is a unique application that I could get a lot of use and support from. I like it. How would you rate the, how would you likely to be to use the tracking up? I would be extremely likely. Like I said, I have health concerns from my animal and I feel like this would be a very good way for me to attack those head on and to be able to feel like I’m doing the best for my animal.
